I spent four months in Pakistan and took over ten thousand photos, wish I could show you all of them.
Even though I was born in Lahore, one of the great cities of the world, rest of Pakistan is impressive too.
It's people, it's food, and it's scenery is what me and my siblings still, after fifty years, miss.
I think you can see why...
I was lucky to live a mile away from Shalimar Gardens. This three tier gardens was built by Shah Jahan's architects, the same architects who built the Taj Mahal.
I know every corner of this place. When the sun sets and the under-lit fountains flare, you can't help but to run on the Mogul design path with joy.
The Mountains
Five of the top ten mountains are in northern Pakistan. Just imagine that... There are places you can't get to until July, because of snow. I wanted to be a portrait photographer, but Pakistan pulls me back and says, you can't escape. The Indus river could have killed me when I skipped school and went swimming in one of it's canals, but it taught me to swim and to appreciate nature.
Marsur Rock, Hussainabad, Skardu, Pakistan
Breathtaking is just one of the words that describe this region. It takes thirteen hours by bus from Islamabad to Skardu, that's if the mountains let you. The rockslides and the melting snow have their own agenda. That's when you get out of the bus and feel the wind and hear the rushing water. Awe inspiring is another word!
